Tenebrescent hackmanite is a unique variety of sodalite known as a "living stone" because it reversibly changes color when exposed to light, a property called tenebrescence, often turning deep purple or pink in sunlight (UV light) and fading back to its original color in the dark or bright light, also exhibiting strong orange fluorescence under UV, making it a popular, fascinating mineral for collectors.
