Art deco style polar bear from the Latvian born, Maigon Daga. Daga studied in Austria, where had a studio until 1965 when he moved to the US. He lived and worked in Minneapolis, Minn. until his death in 2001. Maigon Daga was a Master Listed Ceramist. This bear has more texture than any others I have owned, bear is approx. 7 inches long X 4.5 inches wide X 5.4 inches tall, total size is approx. 6 inches wide by 8 inches long and 6 inches tall (measurements including the marble). Signed on the bottom of white marble. Bear looks to be moving across an ice floe.
