This valuable knitwear is made by craftsmen in the Tohoku region of Japan using a hand frame knitting machine.
The material is a very rare natural mohair yarn that does not contain any synthetic fibers. It uses 40% kid mohair, which is harvested from young goats under one year old, making it very soft to the touch. It is also blended with South American alpaca for a firm, resilient feel. Furthermore, after knitting, each piece is finished by a specialist who uses a teasel brush to raise the nap.
